Our method: direct bonding
For façades, we lay stone directly bonded with adhesive mortar onto the masonry substrate, after a scratch coat — with no rail, metal anchor or ventilated system. In Marrakech's dry climate, this method gives a solid façade, with no air gap, very durable and true to the tradition of set stone. The substrate must be perfectly sound and well-bonded.
Choosing the façade stone
We favour pale, low-absorption stones that reflect heat and resist the sun: travertine, local limestones, or thin stone-effect porcelain for large areas. The pale colour limits expansion and keeps the façade cool; a façade sealer protects against soiling and the rare driving rain.
In Marrakech's dry climate, direct bonding onto a sound substrate is simpler, more durable and true to traditional set stone. We reserve ventilated systems for cases where they are genuinely necessary.
